Why Now

Cities Mandated Containers.
Nobody Built Infrastructure for Them.

New York City's containerization rules now require 70% of the city's trash to be set out in containers, and the city is committed to full containerization by the end of 2031. Businesses must hold enough capacity for 72 hours of waste. Similar rules are spreading across the Northeast.

The bags left the sidewalk. Individual bins took their place — one per business, clustered along pavement that was already narrow.

But containers on their own don't change collection. A bin fills at the same rate whether or not anyone is watching it, and the truck still runs on a fixed schedule. More waste means more bins, not better infrastructure.
